The film opens with a series of television broadcasts that make clear The Collector is a brutal serial killer and is still at large. He is now the focus of a massive police manhunt. As in the first film, the Collector kills all victims but one, who he kidnaps. Arkin, returning from the first film, is the most recent known victim.
Teenager Elena Peters is taken by her friends, Missy and Josh, to a secret party at an undisclosed location. Elena witnesses her boyfriend, Brian, who bailed out on their date the same night, with another woman. She gets upset, punches him in the face, and leaves the crowded dance floor to enter an isolated room. There, she discovers a red trunk and opens it to find a severely injured Arkin. Arkin grabs Elena and they both dodge a steel spear that shoots from the wall which initiates a series of deadly traps. First, a large combine, similar to a wheat thresher, tears through the dance floor, shredding hundreds of people. Meanwhile, a frightened girl steps on a trip wire, initiating thin swords to fling out of a hallway, hitting people in the chest and neck. Finally, a small room locks shut with two steel bar barriers, and the Collector is spotted standing on a crate panel shaft in the ceiling. The ceiling lowers completely on the last victims, including Missy, slowly crushing them to death as Elena watches them in horror. The Collector quickly finds and captures Elena, while Arkin escapes by taking Brian's body as a protective shield and jumping out of a high window, landing on a car and breaking his arm in the process.
At the hospital, Arkin is arrested by the police and put under constant surveillance due to his known criminal record. He is approached by Lucello, the right-hand man of Elena's wealthy father. Lucello has hired a team of mercenaries to hunt the Collector down and save Elena before she is killed. Lucello implies that if Arkin leads them to the Collector's hideout, he will save Arkin from his criminal record. Since he was previously kidnapped by the Collector, Arkin had marked the turns in their journey on his arm with a series of cuts. He is able to lead the mercenary group to the Collector's base - the abandoned Hotel Sargento - in a desolate part of town. Meanwhile, Elena uses her bra to push through a hole in the red trunk, enabling her to grip the latch and escape from inside. Upon their arrival, Arkin refuses to go inside, and Lucello then double-crosses him and forces him at gunpoint to guide them through the hotel. The Collector re-enters the room and notices her escape, so he lets loose several spiders, hoping this will reveal her hidden location. However, Elena is able to escape while the Collector is distracted by the surveillance alarms triggered by the team of mercenaries.

At this point, the film jumps among 3 groups: Elena trying to find an exit, Arkin trying to escape, and the mercenary team led by Lucello trying to find Elena. While wandering the hotel, all three encounter live humans being experimented upon and human body parts re-arranged to resemble insects. Arkin narrowly escapes the Collector several times but is unable to find an exit. Members of the mercenary team are killed or captured one by one. Elena finds a room full of make-up and a prisoner named Abby who claims to be the Collector's "favorite" and is reluctant to break his rules. When Abby notices Elena adjusting her hearing aid she panics, claiming that Elena isn't strong enough for the collection and that she wasn't supposed to escape. Elena and Abby are separated when the Collector finds them.
Eventually, Elena, Lucello, and Arkin reunite and rescue Paz from a trap, all other members of the team having been killed. They find Abby, who asks to escape with them. The group finds a room with a small window that they cannot escape through, but they see two homeless men outside. When the men are unable to hear their shouts, Arkin shoots one of them. He fires a second shot when police arrive, causing the SWAT team to surround the building. Abby betrays the group's location to the Collector, but dies when she steps on a board of nails and falls back into an iron maiden-like trap, which mechanically folds with her inside. Enraged by this, the Collector attacks the group with a pair of dogs and kidnaps Elena. Lucello, pinned to the ground with another iron maiden trap approaching from above, tells the group to save Elena and leave him. They find her strapped to an autopsy table. When they approach, they are trapped in a cage that falls from above. The Collector makes it apparent by displaying and flashing a lighter that he is going to burn down the building, but Arkin manages to open the cage by having Elena re-break his arm so that he can reach the latch.
The group escapes and finds an exit door to the building--it is jammed from the outside. The Collector kills Paz and easily beats Arkin in a fist-fight since the latter has only one functional arm. As the Collector is about to kill Arkin and Elena, Lucello appears, having survived his trap by using one of the dog corpses. He fights the Collector in a knife fight but loses; however, as a final act, he holds the Collector in place so that Arkin can get the upper hand, Arkin savagely beats the Collector before throwing his body down a chute onto a pile of body parts covered in gasoline and lighting it on fire. As the building burns down, the fire department hears Elena's screams and opens the door from the outside, allowing Elena and Arkin, the last survivors, to escape. However, Arkin finds the Collector's burned mask inside Arkin's trunk with no corpse.
Some time later, Arkin manages to track down the Collector's house by searching for every registered entomologist nearby. Arkin confronts the Collector and, before killing him, says he will torture the Collector as he tortured Arkin. The Collector attacks Arkin, but is forced into his red box and desperately clings onto the sides as Arkin slams the box shut.

Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) is a young man who works as an advisor in San Francisco. During the summer break, he decides to visit his family in Spain for a holiday he really doesn't want. He is picked up by his father, Martin Shaw (Bruce Willis), who works in various different countries for the government as an advisor himself. In the evening, phone calls put Will in a bad mood and he decides to go fishing the next day. Will is still preoccupied with the phone calls, resulting in an accident which causes his brother's (Rafi Gavron) girlfriend to hit her head on a winch when Will dives to save her from being hit by a boom. While everyone is checking to see if Dara (Emma Hamilton) is alright, Will's phone rings again. In frustration Martin throws Will's phone into the ocean. Will decides to swim into town to fetch medical supplies and take some time to cool down.
When he returns to the beach, Will finds the boat gone, but after searching, he discovers it abandoned in a neighboring cove. Will runs to a local police station where he is met with indifference. When Will identifies himself, the officer in charge makes a phone call, and then asks to be taken to the boat. They are met there by Zahir (Roschdy Zem), who knows the whereabouts of Will's family, and invites him to show him the way. Will senses something is wrong with the situation, and attempts to escape in the police car. Martin shows up, beats the officers and helps Will escape.
Martin reveals to Will that he is a CIA agent, and explains that the people who have taken their family are after a briefcase he took. Martin calls his partner who agrees to meet him in Madrid. They go to the meeting and Will stays in the car while Martin talks to his partner, Jean Carrack (Sigourney Weaver), who says that she doesn't have the briefcase anymore. He doesn't believe her and thinks something isn't right. As he returns to the car, a sniper (Joseph Mawle) murders Martin. When Will gets out to check him, Martin's phone starts ringing and the sniper, Gorman, starts shooting at him. He grabs the phone out of his father's pocket, leaves the car and is chased through Madrid by police and Gorman, but he manages to escape, and throws his dad's gun in the trash. During his escape, He gets a call from the kidnappers who want to speak to "Tom" and say they want the briefcase in exchange for his family. The kidnappers give Will a deadline of 21 hours and meeting point.
Going to the U.S embassy, Will discovers that he is wanted for killing a police officer which he denies, but they are not interested in finding his family. The embassy then tells him someone wants to meet him. Jean and a man wait for him, and Jean says she wants to help. He doesn't trust her and fakes illness to escape. Carrack tells her agents to let him run and that they will get "the other one" first. Will recovers the gun from the trash, and gets on a bus. Looking through his father's phone, he sees that Diego's name comes up several times and calls it. He again gets a call from the kidnappers who want to speak to "Tom" and say they want the briefcase in exchange for his family. The kidnappers tell Will to bring them the briefcase by 6pm at Puerta del Sol. During this call Will speaks to his mother and tells her Martin was killed.
He arrives at Diego's office and speaks to Lucia Caldera (Verónica Echegui), Diego's niece and the girl who he spoke to on the phone. Suddenly, the man from the embassy appears and fights with Will, who kills him. Lucia and Will go to Diego's apartment but find out that Jean and her hitman Gorman have killed her uncle. Will finds and confronts Jean and Gorman in the kitchen. She wants him to follow her but is interrupted by Lucia coming in. They escape through the rooftops and Will is shot. Instead of a hospital, she takes Will to a nightclub where her friend has medical experience. Will also finds out that Tom is Martin's alias in Spain, and that Lucia is his half sister, being Martin's illegilimate daughter.
Will recovers and goes to a meeting with the kidnapper on the phone. The man on the phone is Zahir who initially beats up Will for information. Once he realizes Will really is ignorant of what is happening, Zahir tells him the truth; The briefcase was stolen from a Mossad agent by Martin. Zahir is an Israeli agent determined to recover the case. He realises that Jean is the corrupt agent, not Martin, and she wants to sell the contents of the case. He decides to use Will to lure out Jean and the buyers of the briefcase. Zahir shows Will's family saying he must do as he says, and this must succeed or the family will be released and Jean will kill them.
Lucia comes up with a plan to lure Jean out by starting a tab on her credit card. This lures out Gorman who is subdued by the bouncers at the club and tortured for information. Gorman gives nothing away and Will's next plan is to make him think he has escaped so they can follow him. This works and they follow him to Jean, who then lead them to an underground car park. The Israeli agents follow but a noise spooks Jean who kills the buyers and tries to escape. Gorman is killed trying to escape in his car, and Will and Lucia then pursue Jean. After a pursuit through Madrid, the roles are reversed and Jean chases them due to her frustration with their interference. The cars then collide, and Will's car is worse off. Just as Jean is about to deliver the final blow, she is taken out by Zahir, who retrieves the briefcase.
As Lucia recovers in hospital, she also meets her new half family, and Will is offered a job in the CIA. Whether he accepts is left unresolved.

In a building site in the East End of London, two construction workers discover a 17th century graveyard condemned by Charles II and are bitten by zombies, setting off a zombie outbreak in the area.
Terry MacGuire and his younger brother Andy are planning a bank robbery so they can save their ex-gangster grandfather Ray's retirement home from being demolished by property developers, along with the assistance of their cousin Katy, hopeless Davey Tuppence and "Mental" Mickey, an unstable war veteran who has a large supply of weapons. During the robbery, the bank manager presses an emergency button and the police are alerted. The gang take Emma and Clive hostage. Upon leaving the bank, however, they find that the police have been killed by a growing horde of zombies. They escape in a van.
Meanwhile, at the retirement home, the zombies attack the residence. Ray and residents Peggy, Daryl, Doreen and Eric take refuge in the kitchen; Ray also rescues a resident named Hamish and gets him inside.
Terry's group arrive at an abandoned site, where Mickey is bitten by the zombie. Emma pleads with Mickey and Davey to let her and Clive go, saying she does not care about their 'selfish' plans, in which Katy tells her that they are not robbing the bank for themselves, but to save the retirement home. Mickey decides to leave and takes Emma and Clive with him and ties them up. After Mickey dies and turns into a zombie, he is promptly destroyed by Terry, who rescues Emma and Clive. Clive picks up Mickey's gun and threatens the group, but is promptly eaten by zombies, shooting Davey dead in the process. The rest of the group escape, on the way stopping to look for Emma's younger sister, whom Terry and Emma find as a zombie, but Emma decides not to kill her in case a cure is found.
Having themselves heavily armed with at Mickey's gun cache, Terry, Andy, Katy and Emma arrive at the retirement home in a double-decker bus. There, they manage to break the zombie siege and rescue Ray and the other surviving residents. They all then go into the bus, but it breaks down on the way and the group are forced to abandon it. They eventually find a boat which Peggy steals, but it is still chained up. Ray decides to sacrifice himself to save the others, but he still manages to survive and joins the others on the boat as they make their final escape. Terry MacGuire and his younger brother Andy are planning a bank robbery so they can save their ex-gangster grandfather Ray's retirement home from being demolished by property developers, along with the assistance of their cousin Katy, hopeless Davey Tuppence and "Mental" Mickey, an unstable war veteran who has a large supply of weapons. During the robbery, the bank manager presses an emergency button and the police are alerted. The gang take Emma and Clive hostage. Upon leaving the bank, however, they find that the police have been killed by a growing horde of zombies. They escape in a van.
Meanwhile, at the retirement home, the zombies attack the residence. Ray and residents Peggy, Daryl, Doreen and Eric take refuge in the kitchen; Ray also rescues a resident named Hamish and gets him inside.
Terry's group arrive at an abandoned site, where Mickey is bitten by the zombie. Emma pleads with Mickey and Davey to let her and Clive go, saying she does not care about their 'selfish' plans, in which Katy tells her that they are not robbing the bank for themselves, but to save the retirement home. Mickey decides to leave and takes Emma and Clive with him and ties them up. After Mickey dies and turns into a zombie, he is promptly destroyed by Terry, who rescues Emma and Clive. Clive picks up Mickey's gun and threatens the group, but is promptly eaten by zombies, shooting Davey dead in the process. The rest of the group escape, on the way stopping to look for Emma's younger sister, whom Terry and Emma find as a zombie, but Emma decides not to kill her in case a cure is found.
Having themselves heavily armed with at Mickey's gun cache, Terry, Andy, Katy and Emma arrive at the retirement home in a double-decker bus. There, they manage to break the zombie siege and rescue Ray and the other surviving residents. They all then go into the bus, but it breaks down on the way and the group are forced to abandon it. They eventually find a boat which Peggy steals, but it is still chained up. Ray decides to sacrifice himself to save the others, but he still manages to survive and joins the others on the boat as they make their final escape. After the door to the cabin's darkened cellar swings open on its own during a tipsy game of Truth or Dare, for example, both technicians coerce their charges into investigating the contents within.
The group soon uncovers a plentiful assortment of bizarre articles, including an old diary once maintained by Patience Buckner, onetime cabin resident abused by her sadistic family. Dana, who takes an interest in Patience, subsequently recites incantations from the journal and inadvertently summons the zombified Buckner clan. Leaving Dana, Holden, and Marty behind with the book, Curt and Jules retire outside - where Hadley successfully induces them to have sex. Set upon by marauding Buckners, Jules is decapitated but Curt escapes, sounding the alarm. Marty, a frequent marijuana smoker, becomes justifiably paranoid, declaring that unseen figureheads have been toying with their crisis. Locating concealed surveillance equipment, he theorizes that the predicament may be a gimmick for reality television before being dragged off to be killed by Judah Buckner.
A terrified Curt, Holden, and Dana attempt escape in their RV, though Sitterson triggers a tunnel collapse, rendering the highway impassable. Curt jumps a ravine on his motorcycle in a desperate bid to reach an adjoining road, but is killed crashing into a camouflaged force shield - apparently erected by the technicians. His demise convinces Dana that Marty's concerns may have been founded.
Veering off the tarmac, the RV plummets into a nearby lake after Father Buckner surfaces inside and stabs Holden. Dana survives the impact, but is confronted by Matthew Buckner when she swims ashore. As he delivers his final blow, the Facility staff celebrate the completion of their ritual. Sitterson receives a phone call informing him that Marty is still alive. Rescuing Dana, Marty reveals that he was able to overpower his assailant upon being taken into an obscured elevator. They infiltrate the Facility, where a menagerie of monsters are imprisoned. Dana observes a cenobite-like creature clutching a globe she observed in the cabin's cellar, indicating that the items there dictate which monster will be unleashed on its concurrent occupants. She and Marty are cornered by a private security team, yet manage to release the monsters, which slaughter the Facility's staff. Sitterson manages to escape, but is inadvertently stabbed by Dana in the lower levels of the building.
Upon entering an underground temple, the two survivors meet the project Director, who explains that every year worldwide rituals commence to appease malevolent beings identified only as "Ancient Ones"; living beneath the Facility, they are kept in perpetual slumber through an annual pars pro toto sacrifice of five young people embodying certain archetypes: the Whore (Jules), the Athlete (Curt), the Scholar (Holden), the Fool (Marty) and the Virgin (Dana). The order in which intended victims perish is flexible, as long as the Whore is first and the Virgin is last. The Director urges Dana to shoot Marty, completing the ritual, but they are interrupted by a werewolf. Patience Buckner arrives, killing the Director, and Marty knocks them into a chasm.
Dana and Marty accept that it might be better for another species to take humanity's place if this is the price of its continued existence. They share a final joint as the Ancient Ones finally stir, destroying the Facility.

As the movie begins, the names of famous visionaries including Joan of Arc, Albert Einstein and Alexander the Great flash on the screen. A caption reads, "All of them saw things others didn't see. All of them changed the world."
In the early 1980s, in Soviet Russia, young Misha Galkin is in a public park at night looking at the stars. Suddenly the stars shift into the outline of a cow's head, which turns and looks at him. Moments later, Misha is struck by lightning. A woman examines him and, seeing that he is still alive, predicts that his life will not be ordinary.
In present-day Russia, Misha (Ed Stoppard) has grown up to become a high-powered marketing executive working with Bob Gibbons (Jeffrey Tambor). When Bob's niece Abby (Leelee Sobieski) comes to visit from America, Bob warns Misha to keep his hands off the girl, but despite Bob's warning, Abby and Misha drift into a relationship. Misha tells Abby various trivia about the history of marketing, such as that Vladimir Lenin invented modern marketing, and that Communism was the first true global brand.
Meanwhile, on a private Polynesian island, a marketing guru named Joseph Pascal (Max von Sydow) is meeting with the executives of fast food companies. The guru tells them that, to make fast food profitable again, they must change public perceptions of beauty and "make fat the new fabulous." An unseen voice-over narrator says that the companies agreed to carry out the guru's plan.
In a series of documentary-style flashbacks, narrated by the same unseen narrator, we see how Misha used his natural marketing savvy to rise from a poor clerk to a marketing exec. Misha's big break came when he met Bob, an American hired to spread Western brands and businesses in post-Communist Russia. In the present, Bob discovers Abby's relationship with Misha and is furious.
Misha is hired to do marketing for a new reality TV show, "Extreme Cosmetica," in which an overweight girl will undergo extensive plastic surgery to become skinny and beautiful. Everything goes wrong when, after the first operation, the girl falls into a coma. The public turns against the show and the glorification of skinny bodytypes in general, and Misha, as the show's marketer, becomes the scapegoat. He is swarmed by protesters, beaten by police and arrested. When he is released from jail, he angrily confronts his former partner Bob, saying that he's realized the truth: the show and the coma was all orchestrated in order to induce Abby and Misha to split up. Bob denies it ("it would take millions of dollars to manipulate public opinion that way, and it would take the greatest assassin in the world to fake the operation to put that girl in a coma!") Later, at a bar, they get in a fight, and then, Bob has a heart attack.
Full of guilt from the "Extreme Cosmetica" girl's fate, Misha realizes that "his marketing powers are a curse" (as explained by the narrator) and he leaves Moscow and withdraws from modern society. Six years later, Abby tracks him down to a rural community where Misha is living the simple life as a cowherd. While Abby is visiting him, Misha has a strange dream. Abby takes Misha to her apartment in Moscow where she reveals that she is rich (due to an inheritance from Bob) and that they have a six-year-old son. In the intervening six years, the "fat is fabulous" campaign has changed society, everyone is overweight and images of fat people are used in advertising everywhere. Their son is also overweight and loves "The Burger" and other junk-food brands. Distressed by his grotesque visions no one else can see and disgusted by the rampant commercialism around him, Misha impulsively trashes Abby's apartment. Frightened by his behavior, Abby leaves Misha and takes their son with her.
Misha develops a plan to fight back against the branding-creatures using their own methods. Going back to his old company, he accepts a job to do marketing for Dim Song, a vegetarian Chinese restaurant chain. At the meeting with the executives, he perceives tentacles growing out of their necks connecting them to the collective Dim Song corporate-branding entity. Using dialogue which parallels Pascal's speech to the fast food executives earlier in the movie, he promises to fix Dim Song's problems. Misha's solution is to cause a fake anti-beef scare (using the public's fear of a mysterious virus similar to Bovine spongiform encephalopathy a.k.a Mad cow disease) which will frighten people from eating meat, thus turning them towards vegetarian food.
The anti-beef scare works, and burger sales drop precipitously. From the rooftop of a building, Misha watches a dragon-like entity hatch from an egg on top of the Dim Song building and fly towards The Burger restaurant, ripping apart and killing The Burger's corporate embodiment. Misha predicts that The Burger will go bankrupt within a week, and his prediction comes true. Back on the Polynesian island, the marketing guru tells the distressed fast food executives that they are in trouble, but there is still a way to save their brands. Before he can tell them his new plan, however, he is vaporized by a bolt of lightning.
Misha continues his plan to destroy the world's major brands by using fear-based marketing to make customers afraid of them one by one. In a CG sequence, the brand creatures fly over the city attacking and killing one another: "Yepple" killing "GiantSoft", etc. Public opinion turns against marketing in general, and the Russian parliament considers a bill banning all advertising. Depressed and alone in his corporate office, Misha leaves a message on Abby's cellphone, asking her for forgiveness. At that very moment, Abby shows up. Suddenly, the building is raided by anti-advertising protesters, who smash through the doors and assault the employees. Misha is struck down while he and Abby try to escape. At that moment, an emergency broadcast plays on TV, saying that Russia and the other nations of the world have agreed to ban all advertising. The protesters stop their rampage, but Misha is already lying on the floor, bleeding from a head wound.
Some time later, all advertising has been banned, the Moscow skyline is free of billboards, and bulldozers are crushing old advertising materials in the dump. In the hospital, Misha has awakened with a bandage on his head, and is playing with Abby and his son. In another room in the same hospital, the "Extreme Cosmetica" girl awakens from her coma and wanders out into the advertising-free city streets. The voice-over narrator explains that thanks to Misha, the world was changed forever. The camera pans up into the night sky and reveals that the narrator is the cow constellation that young Misha saw at the beginning of the movie.
In the early 1980s, in Soviet Russia, young Misha Galkin is in a public park at night looking at the stars. Suddenly the stars shift into the outline of a cow's head, which turns and looks at him. Moments later, Misha is struck by lightning. A woman examines him and, seeing that he is still alive, predicts that his life will not be ordinary.
In present-day Russia, Misha (Ed Stoppard) has grown up to become a high-powered marketing executive working with Bob Gibbons (Jeffrey Tambor). When Bob's niece Abby (Leelee Sobieski) comes to visit from America, Bob warns Misha to keep his hands off the girl, but despite Bob's warning, Abby and Misha drift into a relationship. Misha tells Abby various trivia about the history of marketing, such as that Vladimir Lenin invented modern marketing, and that Communism was the first true global brand.
Meanwhile, on a private Polynesian island, a marketing guru named Joseph Pascal (Max von Sydow) is meeting with the executives of fast food companies. The guru tells them that, to make fast food profitable again, they must change public perceptions of beauty and "make fat the new fabulous." An unseen voice-over narrator says that the companies agreed to carry out the guru's plan.
In a series of documentary-style flashbacks, narrated by the same unseen narrator, we see how Misha used his natural marketing savvy to rise from a poor clerk to a marketing exec. Misha's big break came when he met Bob, an American hired to spread Western brands and businesses in post-Communist Russia. In the present, Bob discovers Abby's relationship with Misha and is furious.
Misha is hired to do marketing for a new reality TV show, "Extreme Cosmetica," in which an overweight girl will undergo extensive plastic surgery to become skinny and beautiful. Everything goes wrong when, after the first operation, the girl falls into a coma. The public turns against the show and the glorification of skinny bodytypes in general, and Misha, as the show's marketer, becomes the scapegoat. He is swarmed by protesters, beaten by police and arrested. When he is released from jail, he angrily confronts his former partner Bob, saying that he's realized the truth: the show and the coma was all orchestrated in order to induce Abby and Misha to split up. Bob denies it ("it would take millions of dollars to manipulate public opinion that way, and it would take the greatest assassin in the world to fake the operation to put that girl in a coma!") Later, at a bar, they get in a fight, and then, Bob has a heart attack.
Full of guilt from the "Extreme Cosmetica" girl's fate, Misha realizes that "his marketing powers are a curse" (as explained by the narrator) and he leaves Moscow and withdraws from modern society. Six years later, Abby tracks him down to a rural community where Misha is living the simple life as a cowherd. While Abby is visiting him, Misha has a strange dream.
